Engage Education is recruiting for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Programme, starting in January 2027.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is passionate about working with children and wants to build a career within a primary or specialist education setting. You will gain hands-on experience working in a school while completing your Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification over 11 months.

The Programme

The apprenticeship will run for 11 months and combine practical, hands-on experience with online learning and support from a dedicated training tutor.

You will:

• Work within a school five days per week, gaining valuable classroom experience.

• Support teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons and activities.

• Work with individuals and small groups of pupils to support their learning and development.

• Help create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.

• Support children’s communication, social skills, independence and emotional development.

• Complete online learning and coursework alongside your school placement.

• Receive regular support and guidance from your apprenticeship tutor.

You will be based in a school during term time, working alongside experienced teachers and teaching assistants who will help you develop the skills and confidence needed for a career in education.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for individuals who:

• Are passionate about working with children and supporting their education.

• Have some previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults, ideally in a school, nursery, childcare or support/care setting.

• Comfortable working with children with special educational needs.

• Are enthusiastic, reliable and committed to learning.

• Have good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Are willing to undertake both practical training and independent online learning.

• Are looking to build a long-term career as a Teaching Assistant.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be aged 18 or over.

• Hold GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.

• Have the right to work in the UK.

• Have been living in the UK for at least three years.

• Not already be enrolled on another government-funded qualification at the same level.

• Be able to commit to the full 11-month programme.

• Access to own laptop/tablet to be able to complete online calls and coursework.
