Engage Education is currently recruiting Flexible Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Leeds!
What does the role involve?
- Supervising secondary school classes in the absence of the usual teacher.
- Delivering pre-prepared lessons using PowerPoint presentations and lesson resources left by the teacher.
- Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Ensuring students remain on task and complete the work provided.
- Following school policies and supporting students with their learning.
No lesson planning or subject expertise is required! You simply deliver the resources provided and focus on keeping students engaged, safe and on task.
Who would this role suit?
This is an ideal opportunity for graduates, particularly those with degrees in Maths, English, Science or other academic subjects, who may be considering teacher training or a future career in education.
It’s also a great fit for confident communicators who enjoy working with young people and want to gain valuable classroom experience.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with children or young people in a school, nursery, care or support setting within the last 3 years.
- Confidence managing groups of students and maintaining classroom behaviour.
- Strong communication and organisation skills.
- Availability between 8:30am and 3:30pm.
- Flexibility to work on an ad hoc basis, with opportunities to suit your availability.
