Engage Education is working with a large, welcoming primary school in Hove that is looking for a passionate and motivated Year 5 Teacher to join their team as soon as possible.

📚 About the Role

As the Year 5 Teacher, you’ll play a key role in delivering engaging lessons, developing pupils’ independence and helping them build the knowledge and confidence they need as they progress towards Year 6.

Working within a large primary school, you’ll collaborate with colleagues and the wider school team to create a positive classroom environment where every child is encouraged to succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering creative, engaging Year 5 lessons
• Following the KS2 National Curriculum
• Differentiating lessons to meet pupils’ varying abilities and learning needs
• Monitoring, assessing and tracking pupil progress
• Developing pupils’ confidence, independence and critical-thinking skills
• Preparing children for the transition into Year 6
• Maintaining positive behaviour and high expectations
• Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff
• Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
• Creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment

💛 What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to hear from teachers who are:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or hold a recognised equivalent
• Experienced in, or confident teaching, KS2
• Confident planning and delivering the Year 5 curriculum
• Able to create engaging lessons that inspire and challenge pupils
• Skilled at managing a classroom and promoting positive behaviour
• Organised, adaptable and committed to pupil progress
• A supportive team player with strong communication skills
• Passionate about helping children achieve their potential

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.
