Engage Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Brighton with Nursery and Reception classes, looking for a fun, caring and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team.

In Early Years, learning is about so much more than sitting at a desk. Children learn through play, exploration, creativity and positive relationships. We’re looking for someone who can bring activities to life, spark children’s curiosity and create a nurturing environment where little learners feel safe, happy and excited to discover new things.

🎨 About the Role

You’ll work across Nursery and Reception, supporting children at different stages of their early development. Working alongside the EYFS team, you’ll help create a fun, engaging environment where children can learn through play, build confidence and develop essential skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting children through play-based learning and creative activities
• Helping deliver engaging activities that encourage curiosity and imagination
• Supporting children 1:1 and in small groups
• Encouraging early communication, language, phonics, literacy and numeracy
• Supporting children’s social, emotional and physical development
• Helping children build confidence, independence and positive relationships
• Adapting activities to support children with different learning needs, including SEND
• Creating a welcoming, safe and stimulating learning environment
• Working closely with teachers and the wider Early Years team

💛 What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Fun, energetic and nurturing, with a genuine love of working with young children
• Creative and enthusiastic about learning through play
• Patient, caring and understanding of children’s individual needs
• Experienced in a Nursery, Reception, childcare or primary school setting
• Familiar with the EYFS framework, or keen to develop their knowledge
• Confident supporting children’s communication and early development
• A positive team player who can use their initiative
• Passionate about giving children the best possible start to their education

Experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs would be beneficial. Graduates and aspiring teachers are also encouraged to apply.
