This is not a general Teaching Assistant position. We are looking for someone confident taking responsibility for tuition, identifying gaps in learning and independently delivering structured academic sessions.

You will:

- Support pupils with Shakespeare and GCSE texts
- Deliver Functional Skills English and Maths
- Provide targeted English and Maths intervention
- Identify gaps in knowledge and plan appropriate tuition
- Use initial assessments to target areas for development
- Adapt work for pupils at different academic levels
- Stretch higher-attaining pupils towards GCSE outcomes
- Monitor progress and adjust tuition accordingly
- Help pupils rebuild confidence in their academic ability
- Build positive relationships with pupils who may have struggled in mainstream education
The school uses established resources, including CGP materials, so you will have guidance around the content pupils need to cover.

- Can support pupils with Shakespeare
- Has experience delivering tuition, lessons or interventions

About the Pupils
The school provides a smaller and more personalised learning environment for young people who have struggled within mainstream education.
Some pupils may have SEMH, Autism, ADHD, anxiety or other additional needs, while others may have significant gaps in their education.
Small class sizes allow you to focus on each pupil’s individual starting point and provide the targeted academic support they need to progress.
This role requires someone who can combine strong subject knowledge with patience, adaptability and excellent relationship-building skills.
