An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of English to join a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Bradford from November. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position, offering the opportunity for the successful candidate to establish themselves within the school with the potential to secure a permanent role.

About the Role
As a Teacher of English, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students to develop their confidence, literacy skills and critical thinking.
The successful candidate will be able to create a positive and purposeful learning environment, with high expectations of both achievement and behaviour. You will be expected to adapt your teaching to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners and use creative approaches to engage students.
You will join a supportive and collaborative English department, working alongside experienced teachers who are committed to sharing good practice and achieving the best possible outcomes for their students.
This role would suit an experienced teacher as well as an ambitious ECT looking for a school where they can develop professionally and make a genuine difference.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful Teacher of English will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and GCSE
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging, challenging and appropriately differentiated lessons
- High expectations of student achievement, progress and behaviour
- Strong classroom management skills and a calm, consistent approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and reflective approach to teaching and professional development
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
- A commitment to inclusion and supporting students of all abilities and backgrounds
- Enthusiasm, resilience and the ability to think creatively and adapt to changing circumstances
