About the Role

Engage Education are currently recruiting Primary Supply Teachers to join our team and work across a range of primary schools in Wakefield and the surrounding areas.

This is an ideal opportunity for teachers looking for flexible, ad hoc work, allowing you to choose when you want to work around your existing commitments.

Whether you’re looking to work one or two days a week, want regular supply work, or simply want the flexibility to accept work when it suits you, we can offer a range of opportunities to match your availability and experience.

You could work across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, gaining experience in different school settings while continuing to make a positive impact on pupils’ learning.

Your Responsibilities

As a Primary Supply Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons across the primary age range.
  • Follow existing lesson plans and ensure learning objectives are met.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with each school’s policies.
  • Adapt lessons and activities where appropriate to meet the needs of individual pupils.
  • Support pupils with their learning and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Work effectively alongside teaching assistants and other school staff.
  • Ensure a smooth continuation of learning throughout the school day.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain high standards of pupil welfare.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for teachers who:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching within a primary school setting.
  • Are confident managing a classroom independently.
  • Can quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Are adaptable and comfortable working across different school environments.
  • Have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Are reliable, enthusiastic and passionate about education.

ECTs are welcome to apply, as well as experienced primary teachers.

  • Access to a wide range of free CPD training, delivered by our in-house team of experienced senior leaders.
  • Pay in line with the Agency Worker Regulations.
  • Access to further teaching opportunities should you decide you’re looking for a longer-term or permanent position.
