Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

We are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Nursery & Infant school in Dewsbury, working with pupils aged 3–7.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in education while gaining a fully funded Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification alongside hands-on experience in school.

The role

• Supporting pupils across Early Years and Key Stage 1 within the classroom
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils where required
• Supporting children with additional needs and SEND within a mainstream setting
• Assisting teachers with phonics, early literacy and numeracy activities
• Supporting pupils with their speech, language and communication development
• Helping to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and confidence
• Supporting children during classroom activities, play and learning
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment
• Working closely with teachers and other support staff to meet individual pupils’ needs
• Assisting with interventions and targeted learning activities
• Encouraging pupils to develop their independence, resilience and social skills learning

Requirements

• Commitment to completing an 11-month apprenticeship
• GCSE Maths and English Grade C/4 or above preferred
• You must not currently be enrolled on another government-funded qualification
• You must be willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check (full support provided)
