Guernsey is one of the Channel Islands off the coast of Normandy between France and England, although Guernsey is not part of the United Kingdom, it is a part of the British Isles. It is the second largest of the Channel Islands.
The distance between London and Guernsey is 179 miles (287km) and people making the trip can travel via either plane or ferry. If you’re looking to travel to Guernsey via plane, there are flights from certain airports throughout the UK which include London Gatwick, Dublin, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Exeter, Southampton and more. Flights from the UK can vary in travel time depending on where you fly from but the average flight time is 1 hour and 8 minutes. Similarly to the flights, the ferry trips can vary in travel time depending on where you depart from and the type of boat you take. The ferry from Poole to Guernsey takes around 3 hours on a fast ferry which sets off on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. The slower ferry from Portsmouth however, takes 7 hours to reach the island.

If an employee is contracted to a role that lasts less than 12 months then they will be eligible for a payment of £1,400 to cover costs for travel and other expenses.
