Teaching Assistant – Long-Term Opportunity

We are working with a supportive secondary school in Lewisham that is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to gain valuable experience working with young people, develop their classroom skills and potentially build a long-term career within education.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support students in the classroom and during independent learning.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
• Assist students with their academic progress and engagement.
• Support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs.
• Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team.
• Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Support students with their confidence, independence and social development.
• Assist with interventions and targeted learning activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage students to remain focused on their learning.

Previous experience working in a school, youth work, tutoring, mentoring or a similar environment would be beneficial, but is not essential.
