Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant 

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Start Date: November 2026
Contract: Full-Time 
Salary: £15 – £20 per hour 

A welcoming and supportive primary school in Watford is looking for a qualified Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Early Years practitioner who is passionate about supporting young children during the crucial early stages of their learning and development.

The Role

• Support pupils within Nursery and Reception
• Work closely with the class teacher and Early Years team
• Deliver engaging play-based learning activities
• Support children with phonics, early literacy and numeracy
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Assist with observations and monitoring pupil progress
• Support children with SEND and additional learning needs
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and social development
• Help create a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

• Hold a recognised Level 3 Early Years / Teaching Assistant qualification
• Have experience working within an EYFS setting
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
• Confident supporting phonics and early learning
• Patient, caring and enthusiastic
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to build positive relationships with children, parents and staff
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND would be advantageous
