At Engage, we know that a school runs on quality support staff. We’ve spent over a decade building strong relationships with schools across the UK. We’re now working with an all-through school in Cambridge to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a long-term, full-time basis.

About the role:

  • Make a real difference every day by supporting students with a range of special educational needs and helping them achieve their academic, social and personal goals.
  • Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support, adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Support students with autism and additional needs, helping them to develop confidence, independence and essential life skills.
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider support team to deliver engaging learning activities and create a positive classroom environment.
  • Support students with their learning and development, helping them to access the curriculum and overcome individual barriers to learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing, using calm, consistent and supportive approaches.
  • Build strong and positive relationships with students, creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Encourage independence and confidence, supporting students to develop skills that will benefit them both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Support students during enrichment activities and wider school life, helping them develop socially and personally.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, ensuring students receive consistent and high-quality support throughout the school day.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or SEN professional looking to develop their career within specialist education. It could also be an excellent opportunity for graduates with an interest in SEN, psychology, education, youth work or pastoral support.

About the school:

  • A well-established all-through school in Cambridge, supporting students across a wide age range.
  • A dedicated and nurturing environment designed to support young people with special educational needs, including autism.
  • A strong focus on individualised learning, ensuring education and support are tailored to each student’s needs.
  • A supportive and collaborative staff team who are committed to helping every student reach their potential.
  • A calm, structured and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to develop confidence and independence.
  • A strong focus on personal development, communication, wellbeing and life skills, alongside academic progress.
  • Excellent support for students’ social and emotional development.
  • Opportunities for staff to receive high-quality training and professional development in SEN and specialist education.
  • A rewarding environment where LSAs can develop their knowledge and experience of working with young people with additional needs.
  • The opportunity to become part of a passionate school community and make a genuine difference to the lives of young people every day.
