About the role

We’re currently looking for enthusiastic and experienced Level 3 Early Years Practitioners to join the nursery team at a well-established independent preparatory school in Kingston upon Thames from January 2027.

These are fantastic opportunities for qualified practitioners who are passionate about early childhood development and enjoy creating a stimulating, nurturing and supportive environment for young children.

The positions are part-time, working all year round, with a choice of morning or afternoon shifts.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting children aged 2–5 years in their learning and development.
• Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
• Creating a safe, welcoming and stimulating nursery environment.
• Observing and supporting children’s progress and individual development.
• Working closely with colleagues to provide high-quality childcare and education.
• Building positive relationships with children, parents and carers.
• Following safeguarding, welfare and nursery policies.

The ideal applicant will have:

• A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (essential).
• Previous experience working with children aged 2–5 years, ideally within a nursery setting.
• A good understanding of the EYFS framework.
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A caring, enthusiastic and proactive approach.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.

Working hours

The nursery is offering two part-time shift options:

• Morning shift: 7.30am–1.00pm
• Afternoon shift: 12.30pm–6.00pm

Both positions operate all year round rather than term-time only.
