A welcoming and supportive primary school in Watford is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Year 1 Class Teacher to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about early primary education and can create an engaging, nurturing and positive learning environment for pupils as they move into Key Stage 1.
The Role
- Take responsibility for a Year 1 class
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum
- Support pupils with phonics, early literacy and numeracy
- Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching to meet individual needs
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment
- Support pupils transitioning from EYFS into Key Stage 1
- Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
- Support pupils with a range of abilities and additional needs
The Ideal Candidate
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience teaching within a UK primary school
- Previous Year 1, KS1 or EYFS experience would be desirable
- Strong knowledge of phonics and the KS1 curriculum
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Patient, organised and enthusiastic
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passionate about helping young children develop confidence and a love of learning
