About the Role
As the Year 4 Class Teacher, you will take full ownership of planning, delivering, and assessing a rich, engaging curriculum tailored to lower Key Stage 2. You will foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, academic growth, and independent learning. Working alongside parallel year-group colleagues and an experienced Teaching Assistant, you will ensure all pupils—including those preparing for the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC)—build confidence and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons across all National Curriculum subjects for Year 4.
- Preparing pupils for the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC) through structured, fun numeracy strategies.
- Assessing, tracking, and reporting on pupil progress, using data to inform targeted classroom interventions.
- Creating an inclusive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that supports pupils of all abilities, including SEN and EAL learners.
- Maintaining strong, positive communication with parents, carers, and the wider school community.
Who We’re Looking For
- Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECT status (Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners are equally encouraged to apply).
- Curriculum Knowledge: Sound understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, particularly lower KS2 expectations.
- Classroom Management: Strong, positive behaviour management skills with an encouraging and fair approach.
- Attributes: Passionate, collaborative, organized, and dedicated to raising pupil standards.
Requirements
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
- Full eligibility to work in the UK with professional teaching references.
