SEN Support Worker – Rochdale

Are you an experienced SEN Support Worker looking for your next opportunity?

Engage Education is currently recruiting for an experienced and compassionate Support Worker to work within a specialist educational setting in Greater Manchester. We are looking for someone with relevant SEN experience who is confident supporting young people with a range of additional needs and who can build positive, trusting relationships.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real difference to young people’s lives and supporting them to achieve their potential.

The role:

As an SEN Support Worker, you will work as part of a dedicated team supporting young people with a range of special educational needs. Your role will involve providing day-to-day support, helping students to engage with their learning and activities, and promoting their independence, confidence and wellbeing.

You may be supporting young people with complex needs, challenging behaviour and communication difficulties, so experience working within a specialist SEN, care, residential, education or similar environment would be highly beneficial.

We are looking for:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN/additional needs
• A caring, patient and supportive approach
• The ability to build strong and positive relationships
• Confidence supporting individuals with complex needs and/or challenging behaviour
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A proactive and flexible approach
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to develop and succeed
• Relevant SEN, education, care or support work experience

Desirable but not essential:

• Team Teach or other positive behaviour support training
• DBS registered on the Update Service (UDS) for both Child and Adult Workforce
• Experience working within a specialist school, college, residential or alternative provision setting
• Experience supporting young people with complex learning, behavioural or communication needs
