About the Role
Working directly within a Year 6 classroom, you will play a crucial role in supporting pupils through a pivotal academic year. You will work alongside an experienced class teacher to manage daily learning, deliver targeted SATs booster groups in reading, writing, and mathematics, and provide 1:1 academic encouragement to ensure every pupil reaches their full potential before transitioning to secondary school.

Key Responsibilities
- Delivering small-group boost interventions in Literacy, Guided Reading, and Numeracy tailored to SATs prep.
- Assisting the Year 6 teacher with classroom management, lesson setup, and marking support.
- Providing targeted 1:1 support for children with SEN or those requiring extra academic guidance.
- Helping pupils build resilience, independent study habits, and emotional readiness for secondary transition.
- Supporting the school’s inclusive, caring values and positive behavior policies.
Who We’re Looking For
- Experience: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in Key Stage 2 (Year 5 or Year 6 experience is ideal).
- Academic Skills: Strong English and Maths knowledge to confidently support the Year 6 curriculum.
- Mindset: Resilient, energetic, highly organized, and passionate about raising pupil attainment.
- Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant degree/experience) preferred.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Full eligibility to work in the UK with professional references covering the last two years.
