Are you an inspiring Early Years specialist looking to guide a lovely Reception class through their foundational year of primary education?

Engage Education is seeking a passionate, creative Reception Teacher to join a welcoming primary school community in Tameside.

About the Role

As the Reception Class Teacher, you will lead a vibrant classroom of early learners during a crucial period of social, emotional, and academic development. You will design and deliver an engaging, play-based curriculum that aligns with the EYFS framework—fostering curiosity, early reading confidence, and key social skills. Working closely with an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will create a safe, stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment where every child feels valued.

Why this role stands out

  • Dedicated Early Years Team: Work alongside collaborative EYFS colleagues and supportive teaching assistants.
  • Well-Resourced Provision: Enjoy access to bright, modern indoor classrooms and expansive outdoor play areas.
  • Supportive SLT: Benefit from an approachable leadership team that prioritizes teacher well-being and professional development.
  • Competitive Pay: Paid weekly via PAYE, scaled accurately to your teaching experience level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering high-quality, play-based learning opportunities in line with the EYFS statutory framework.
  • Leading daily systematic synthetic phonics sessions (e.g., Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle) and early mathematics activities.
  • Assessing, tracking, and recording pupil progress against Early Learning Goals (ELGs).
  • Creating an inclusive classroom environment that caters to pupils of all abilities, including those with SEN or EAL.
  • Building strong, positive relationships with parents and carers to support learning at home.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or EYTS (Early Career Teachers and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply).
  • Expertise: Deep understanding of the EYFS framework, early reading strategies, and continuous provision.
  • Attributes: Warm, patient, creative, and energetic with a genuine passion for early childhood development.
  • Classroom Management: Excellent skills in fostering positive behavior, self-regulation, and independence in young children.

Requirements

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
  • Full eligibility to work in the UK with professional teaching references.
