We’re an approved tuition partner this year

Our National Tutoring Programme structure?

As a Tuition Partner on the National Tutoring Programme (NTP), we are committed to providing schools with reliable, hardworking and dedicated tutors when they choose to use their funding with us! We supported schools with over 189,000 hours of tuition in the 2022/23 academic year.

Our tutors are predominantly qualified teachers with qualified teaching status (QTS). As well as having to meet our compliance, background and qualification checks, all of our tutors are required to complete our compulsory training prior to working on any tuition programmes.

We want to understand the needs of your pupils and match tutors to your tuition objectives so we offer schools the opportunity to interview our tutors. This way we ensure that pupils are supported by an appropriately matched tutor, best positioned to impact pupil attainment as we want to help you make the most out of your NTP funding.

What do we offer through our programme?

When you opt to use your NTP funding with us, we can assure you of many benefits and we will help support you every step of the way. Some of the benefits of working with us:

Assurance

We provide comprehensive tutoring support as our specialist tutors are educated and trained in multiple fields meaning that they can provide tuition from Key Stage 1 up to Key Stage 4 in the following subjects; Maths, English, Science, Humanities and Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) across the UK.

Flexibility

Our tuition can be provided both online and in-schools meaning that we can bypass any day-to-day obstacles or complications that you or your students may face. Our online system is a secure and safe platform, allowing easy access for your school, your students and our tutors.

Reliability

As a company, we are CCS-Approved as recommended by the Department for Education, check out our compliance page to see the relationships we’ve built and the policies that we have in place. For this reason, we make sure that all of our tutors complete the same vetting checks and safeguarding training as any teaching and support staff that we work with.

Quality

Our tutors will be fully trained and prepared the moment they begin teaching your students with the support that we provide. Our tutors will undertake induction training and assignments before they are matched with your school.

Supporting

We offer a complete package to our schools, meaning that when you work with us, you will be eligible for the following:

  • Tutor shortlisting in preparation for school interviews and tutor training
  • Tuition planning for each tuition group that we provide you with
  • Guidance around the initial baseline assessment
  • Pupil progress measurement after 5, 10 and 15 hours of our tuition support
  • Full support from our NTP Team

For online tuition:

  • Organisation of secure virtual classrooms
  • Weekly pupil attendance reports
  • Tutor feedback after every tuition session

What tuition is available?

Our tuition is available in 15-hour blocks which can be arranged in different ways and combinations meaning that you can arrange tuition in a way that suits your school’s timetable and your pupil’s needs.

How does NTP funding work?

Schools have the flexibility to decide how to use their NTP funding and can use it to pay for salaried, in-house academic mentors or by paying their own staff to do the tutoring. The alternative option would be to go with a Tuition Partner that has been quality assured by the Department for Education, like us at Engage Education.
