Visa Age Limit Increase

Did you know that the UK Government has made changes to the Youth Mobility Scheme Visa for applicants from Australia and New Zealand?

This means that from 29th June 2023, applicants from Australia and New Zealand can range from ages 18-35 years old where previously it was only 18-30 years old. On top of that, the visa can last up to three years, beforehand it was only two years.

To be eligible for the scheme you need to:

• Live and work in the UK for up to 2 years
• Be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old (18-30 for any other International countries) 
• Have £2,530 in savings 
• Have certain types of British Nationality or be from one of these listed countries

The Process 

• The earliest that you can apply for the visa is 6 months before you set off
• You will need to prove your identity and provide documents as part of your application
• Extra time may be needed if you need an appointment to get any of the documents necessary
• Once you have applied, and proven your identity, you will usually get a decision on your visa within the next 3 weeks

The Cost

• Application fee – £259
• Healthcare surcharge – typically £470 per week
• Proof of enough personal savings
