Teacher Training

Secondary

Beginning 09/23

Looking to kickstart your teaching career? Engage Education has an exciting opportunity for you to earn, learn and work all at once with our Train to Teach programme. As an alternative to traditional teacher training, this programme offers a postgraduate-level qualification that leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), all while earning a salary and without any tuition fees.

We're currently seeking MFL, Computer Science, and Physics trainees to join a growing school in Grays, Essex. As part of the programme, you'll work as a member of support staff in a local school during the first phase, receiving online and in-person support to prepare you for your training programme. This will cover everything from knowledge and understanding of The Teachers' Standards to a reflective summary of learning linked to the standards. By the end of the first phase, you'll be ready to start teaching!

The second phase of the programme will see you excel in your teaching career as you work as a teacher while studying for your PGCE and QTS assessment with the National Institute of Teaching and Education (NITE) at Coventry University. You'll be paid according to the national scale for unqualified teachers while studying modules such as Behaviour and Classroom Management, Curriculum Delivery and Assessment, and Development of The Teachers' Standards.

The school you'll be training in has a digital and artificial intelligence focus, providing pupils with tailored support for their academic development. Their values of Self-Help, Self-Responsibility, Democracy, Solidarity, Equity and Equality ensure a nurturing and inclusive environment for both staff and pupils.

To be eligible for enrolment, you'll need an undergraduate Honours degree and GCSE Level 4 (Grade C) in English, Maths (for Secondary trainees) plus Science (for Primary Trainees). You must also have a passion for becoming a teacher and working in secondary education in the long-term, and the right to work in the UK.

By joining our Train to Teach programme, you'll gain a PGCE and QTS, earn a salary, and receive exclusive professional and personal benefits from Engage Education.

Apply now to kickstart your teaching career and make a difference in the lives of young learners.
