We are currently recruiting a Student Achievement Tutor for a long-term position within a secondary school setting in the London Borough of Bromley. This role is ideal for someone passionate about raising attainment, improving engagement, and supporting students to reach their full academic potential.
The role focuses on targeted academic intervention and mentoring, working closely with pupils who require additional support to make progress. This includes supporting students who may be underachieving due to gaps in learning, low confidence, or barriers linked to attendance or behaviour.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering targeted 1:1 and small-group academic interventions
Supporting students to improve attainment, focus, and study skills
Monitoring progress and supporting pupils to set and achieve academic goals
Working alongside teaching, SEN, and pastoral teams to support student outcomes
Supporting pupils within lessons where required
Helping students build confidence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours
The successful candidate will:
Have experience supporting secondary-aged students academically
Be confident delivering structured intervention sessions
Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
Be organised, proactive, and committed to raising achievement
Be able to motivate and engage students who may lack confidence
Experience working within secondary schools, alternative provision, or SEN settings is desirable, though candidates with strong transferable skills will also be considered.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in education, tutoring, or pastoral support while making a real difference to student achievement.
