STEM Teacher – SEMH Specialist Setting
Location: Calderdale, West Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP – Summer Term 2026
Contract: Temporary (with potential extension)
Working Pattern: 2 days per week
About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected specialist education provider in Calderdale seeking a motivated and adaptable STEM Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis.
This is a rewarding opportunity to teach within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting, supporting young people with Education, Health and Care Plans through engaging, practical and personalised learning.
The provision supports students aged 5–19, delivering tailored educational pathways that build confidence, resilience and preparation for further education, employment and independent living.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging STEM lessons (Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Maths)
Adapt learning to meet EHCP outcomes and individual needs
Use practical and experiential learning strategies to promote engagement
Support students’ confidence, resilience and emotional regulation
Work collaboratively with pastoral, therapy and support teams
Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a teacher who:
Holds QTS/QTLS (or relevant teaching qualification)
Has experience teaching Science, Maths or wider STEM subjects
Has experience in SEND, SEMH or alternative provision (desirable)
Demonstrates strong behaviour management and relational practice
Is flexible, patient and passionate about inclusive education
