SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Sutton

Start: Beginning of March

I’m currently working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Sutton who are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with complex needs on a full-time basis from the start of March.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a caring team in a well-run school that genuinely values its support staff.

About the role

You will be providing 1:1 support to a pupil with the following needs:

• Complex needs

• Personal care

• Challenging behaviour at times

• Occasional self-exiting, requiring calm redirection and time away from class

The school is looking for someone confident, patient, and proactive — someone who can build strong relationships while helping the pupil access learning in a safe and nurturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience supporting children with SEN (complex needs experience highly desirable)

• A calm, resilient approach to behaviour

• A genuine passion for helping children succeed

• The ability to take initiative and work as part of a team

• Experience with PMLD, SEND, or similar settings (beneficial but not essential)

Experience with Theatre in Education (TIE) or workshop-based learning is also welcomed.
