Secondary English Teacher (SEND) – Farnham

Are you a qualified teacher looking for a new challenge? Have you worked with children and young adults with MLD and Autism?

Engage Education is currently working with a lovely SEND school based in Farnham who are urgently seeking a caring and enthusiastic teacher for a long term role to start in September.


The school caters for students with mild learning difficulties and autism, It caters for students across the secondary phase. Their aim is to provide an environment where every member of the school community is given the support and encouragement necessary to meet the demands of education and personal change.

About the role:

The needs of the pupils they cater for range from:

  • Autism

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties

  • Mild Learning Difficulties.

  • The Majority of the students are working at a KS1 and KS2 level with a small number studying GCSEs in English, Maths and Art.

This is a full time, long term position on a long term contract and there could be an option of a permanent offer.

The right SEND Teacher will have the following:

  • Qualified Teacher Status, 6 months previous SEND experience (please note this does not need to be within a special school setting)

  • Ability to adapt tasks to meet the needs of individual children

  • Effective behaviour management skills

  • Effective communication with members of internal staff, including SENCO
