Here at Engage Education, we are looking for Cover Supervisors to meet the demands of day-to-day and long-term cover, to work in our partnership primary schools based across the Kirklees area.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be supervising pupils to carry out pre-planned work when teaching staff are absent. The main responsibility of a Cover Supervisor is to manage the classroom and behaviour, in line with school policies, while ensuring that pupils complete the work which has been set.

The ideal candidate will be confident in supporting the students learning and development at primary level, having strong behaviour management skills, a positive approach and a passion for education.

Within the role you will be required to:

• provide classroom supervision and support in the absence of the regular teacher
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students are engaged and on task
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment
• Support students with their learning, including tutoring and mentoring as needed
• Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate students with special needs, such as autism
• Encourage student participation and facilitate group discussions
• Assist with administrative tasks, such as taking attendance and recording grades
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive educational experience

What you need:

• GCSE’s, including Maths and English at Grade C and above/ 4 or 5
• Confident and positive approach to working with children
• Previous experience working with children or young adults is preferable
• A current DBS registered with the update service or a DBS completed through Engage Education
