Premises Manager – Full Time – Hove

Engage Education are currently recruiting for a full-time Premises Manager to join a school in the Hove area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced facilities or site professional to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a busy school site.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school environment is safe, secure and well maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.

About the role

As Premises Manager, you will oversee all aspects of site management, health and safety compliance, and maintenance operations across the school.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the school buildings and grounds

• Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and statutory requirements

• Overseeing contractors and site-based works

• Managing cleaning and caretaking staff where applicable

• Acting as keyholder and ensuring site security

• Monitoring site budgets, supplies and maintenance schedules

• Conducting regular health and safety checks, risk assessments and record keeping

This is a full-time position and may require some flexibility around working hours to support the needs of the school.

About you

• Previous experience in a Premises Manager, Site Manager or senior caretaking role

• Strong knowledge of health and safety and statutory compliance

• Experience managing contractors and site operations

• Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills

• Organised, reliable and able to prioritise workload effectively

• A valid enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one

Experience within a school or education setting is desirable but not essential.
