SEND Teaching Assistant – Specialist Secondary Setting (Lambeth)

We are currently working with a welcoming and highly supportive specialist school in Lambeth that is urgently seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant / Behavioural Specialist to support secondary-aged pupils, with an immediate start available.

About the role:

You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), both verbal and non-verbal

• Moderate to severe learning difficulties

• Complex needs and associated behaviours

The setting caters for young people who require a highly structured, nurturing environment. Staff work closely with pupils to promote independence, communication, emotional regulation, and positive engagement with learning.

We are keen to hear from applicants who have:

• Experience supporting students with severe ASC and/or profound and multiple learning difficulties, or

• A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs

Experience with Theatre in Education (TIE), creative workshops, or expressive/interactive approaches to learning is highly desirable. A proactive, patient, and relationship-focused approach is essential, as building trust and consistency with pupils is central to the role.
