Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship

This Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship is based at a mainstream primary school in Leeds. This will be to support across Key Stage 1, and work closely with children with special educational needs such as Cerebral Palsy and Autism.

You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide high-quality support to pupils, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and reach their individual potential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, tailored to individual needs

• Assisting with the planning and delivery of engaging, inclusive learning activities

• Supporting pupils’ educational, social, emotional and behavioural development

• Preparing and adapting classroom resources to meet a range of learning needs

• Providing feedback to teachers and contributing to pupil progress reviews

• Supporting enrichment activities and therapeutic or sensory-based learning

The Ideal Candidate

• Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND

• Patient, empathetic and committed to inclusive education

• Strong numeracy and literacy skills

• Be aged 18+

• Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

• Willing to commit to a minimum of 12 months to complete the apprenticeship

• Not currently enrolled in another government-funded programme

• Available during school holidays to complete 20 hours of online training per half-term
