Learning Support Assistant – Dagenham

I am currently working with a lovely Primary school in Barking and Dagenham who are urgently seeking SEND Teaching Assistants who are available full time to work with SEND children on a 121 basis or available part time for ad hoc daily cover.

About the role:

The needs of the pupils they cater for range from:

• Autism (verbal and non-verbal)
• Learning difficulties
• Complex needs
• Social Emotional Mental Health

We welcome applicants with a good understanding of working with students with severe Autism and profound, multiple learning difficulties and are enthusiastic about raising the attainment of their pupils.

You will ideally have experience in supporting children with special educational needs or will have a passion for working with students with special educational needs. Working with Theatre in Education (TIE) or workshops with children are beneficial. By being proactive and taking initiative, you are going to be able to build relationships with students and gain knowledge of a wide variety of needs.

You must have a strong command of both English and Mathematics. Graduates or those currently studying at university are urged to apply.

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or a similar capacity working either 121 or with small groups of children with learning disabilities
