L3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship

About the Role

This Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship is based at a specialist provision in LS28 committed to supporting pupils with complex learning, communication, physical and behavioural needs. The school is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and motivated apprentice to join the team from February half term.

You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide high-quality support to pupils, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and reach their individual potential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, tailored to individual needs

• Assisting with the planning and delivery of engaging, inclusive learning activities

• Supporting pupils’ educational, social, emotional and behavioural development

• Helping pupils with communication, personal care or mobility needs where required

• Preparing and adapting classroom resources to meet a range of learning needs

• Providing feedback to teachers and contributing to pupil progress reviews

• Supporting enrichment activities and therapeutic or sensory-based learning

The Ideal Candidate

• Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND

• Patient, empathetic and committed to inclusive education

• Strong numeracy and literacy skills

• Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff

• Willing to commit to a minimum of 12 months to complete the apprenticeship

• Not currently enrolled in another government-funded programme

• Available during school holidays to complete 20 hours of online training per half-term
