Inclusion Support Assistant – Leeds (LS10)
Engage Education are currently working in partnership with an excellent SEN school in the centre of Leeds to recruit a number of dedicated, inclusive and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistants. This position is specifically to support learners with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) and SEMH needs (social, emotional and mental health).
Starting immediately, the school is looking for an outstanding SEN Teaching Assistant to join them on a long term, full-time basis. If the role goes well, there is the potential for this to turn into a permanent role in September 2024.
The typical working hours are 8:30AM whilst 3:30PM.
Your Role:
- Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis often with complex learning needs.
- Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class.
- Providing feedback to teachers and parents.
- You will be assisting pupils with Complex Communication and Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties and other Learning Disabilities.
- Promoting positive behaviour at all times.
- Promoting children’s physical, social and emotional well being as your number one priority.
What you will need:
- A range of strong behaviour management techniques
- To have previously worked with young people with SEN
- The ability to engage a young person in learning through a range of methods
- To be able to commit to working at the school for long period of time
- A resilient attitude that would enable you to flourish in a challenging environment.
