Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Watford. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and proactive practitioner who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development across the primary age range.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, delivering targeted interventions, and covering classes when required.

The Role

• Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2

• Leading whole-class learning in the absence of the teacher

• Delivering targeted interventions to individuals and small groups

• Supporting pupils with a range of abilities, including SEND

• Assisting with planning, preparation and assessment activities

• Promoting a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Hold HLTA status or have equivalent experience in a primary setting

• Have recent experience working in UK primary schools

• Be confident leading whole-class sessions across different year groups

• Have strong behaviour management and communication skills

• Be organised, flexible and proactive

• Be committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
