History Teacher

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic History Teacher to join a secondary school in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets on a long-term maternity cover contract, starting after the February half term.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting students to develop strong historical knowledge, critical thinking, and exam skills. The role offers the opportunity to join a supportive department within a well-established school community.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering high-quality History lessons in line with the national curriculum

• Teaching History across KS3 and KS4

• Assessing, tracking, and supporting student progress

• Contributing to departmental planning and shared resources

• Maintaining positive behaviour and high expectations in the classroom

The successful candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching History at secondary level

• Be confident delivering engaging and well-structured lessons

• Have strong classroom management skills

• Be committed to student progress and inclusive practice

This role is well suited to experienced teachers or ECTs seeking long-term experience within a diverse and vibrant borough.
