Head of Year – Bradford Secondary School 

Engage Education are currently working with a Secondary school located in Bradford who are seeking to recruit a full-time Head of Year / HLTA for a full-time permanent position starting ASAP. 

The role:

• Meet and greet pupils on arrival and supervise pupils whilst waiting for lessons and at break.
• Support young people in engaging with educational activities under the guidance of a qualified teacher.
• Help the pupils to build up their own resilience through role modelling and positive approaches to overcome barriers to learning.
• Maintain regular contact with families/carers of pupils, as appropriate, to keep them informed of the young person’s needs and progress, and to secure positive family support and involvement and support pupil attendance.

The ideal candidate:

• High level of literacy and numeracy skills.
• Emotionally intelligent snd resilient.
• Calm manner and flexible approach.
• Ability to relate well to young people and adults
• Experience working with young people of secondary school age, preferably in an educational setting.
