We are working with a secondary school in the London Borough of Bexley that is seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a long term basis.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with challenging behaviour, helping students regulate emotions, re-engage with learning, and make positive choices.
The Role:
Providing one to one and small group support for students with behavioural, social, or emotional needs
Acting as a positive role model and building strong, trusting relationships with students
Supporting behaviour management strategies within the classroom and around the school
Helping students reflect on behaviour, understand consequences, and set clear expectations
Working closely with pastoral staff, SEN teams, and teachers to support individual behaviour plans
Creating a calm, safe space for students to de-escalate and reset when required
The Ideal Candidate:
Has experience working with young people with challenging behaviour, either in schools, youth work, mentoring, or similar settings
Is calm, patient, and professional, particularly in high pressure situations
Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting positive outcomes for young people
Experience in education, youth work, care, or mentoring is highly desirable
