We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist school in Bradford that provides high-quality education for children and young people aged 3–19 with complex Autism and Communication & Interaction needs. This exceptional setting is looking to welcome a dedicated Support Worker who can offer both resilience and warmth in equal measure.

About the School:

This is a well-established specialist provision supporting pupils with a wide range of complex needs. Students may present with sensory-based behaviours, communication challenges, and varying levels of independence. The staff team is skilled, welcoming, and fully committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and adaptable learning environment.

The Role:

As an SEN Support Worker, you will work across different phases of the school depending on need. Your day may involve supporting pupils who exhibit challenging behaviour linked to sensory processing or social understanding, as well as working gently and patiently with learners who require a calmer, more reassuring approach.

Duties include:

Supporting pupils with Autism and complex communication needs

Managing behaviours that can be unpredictable or sensory-driven

Providing a nurturing, structured, and safe environment

Assisting with personal care when required

Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff

Adapting your approach to meet individual needs

Encouraging positive engagement and independence

What We’re Looking For:

Lived experience supporting individuals with Autism or complex learning need

Background in support work, care, SEN, or related fields (children or adults)

Confidence in managing challenging behaviour with a calm, consistent approach

A nurturing, patient manner for pupils needing softer support

Willingness to work across age groups (3–19)

Reliability, emotional resilience, and a genuine passion for inclusive support

Availability full-time, Monday–Friday
