At Engage Education Services, we’ve specialised in recruiting education staff for over a decade. We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic Attendance and Admissions Officer to work part-time at a fantastic primary school in Harrow.

Our team has built an excellent reputation in the local area, and we’re looking for more high-quality office staff to work with these schools.

Our Engage Education Services team specialises in the placement of non classroom based staff including Administrators, HR, Finance and Facilities.

Working hours are Monday – Friday 8am – 3:30pm with 30 minute lunch break, (30 hours a week) term time only.

Salary: £14 – £18ph

About the role

Admissions & Attendance Officer with responsibility for supporting the Business and Personnel Manager in managing pupil data systems to support attendance, admissions, assessment and transfer of pupils between schools.

To manage an effective daily liaison with the other office staff to ensure all relevant information is entered into Attendance and Admissions and to ensure these systems are up-to-date and correct. To be wholly responsible for the admissions process for the school, acting as the school’s Admissions Officer, (including Nursery and Reception intake, mid-term admissions and leavers including CTFs, waiting lists, transfer to high school etc)

To be key person responsible for pupil admissions in accordance with the LA/school admissions policy

Work alongside key school staff and the LA Attendance and Safeguarding teams to reduce levels of unauthorised absence and promote whole school attendance strategies and to work with children and families to improve levels of attendance.

All office staff are expected to participate in sharing general day-to-day office duties, including general administrative work as required, answering the telephone, receiving visitors, dealing with pupil/staff at the Office hatch whenever necessary. Process ID checks on all visitors in accordance with the school’s safeguarding procedures, ensuring everyone is signed in and out and wearing appropriate identification.

The ideal applicant will have

  • Experience of working in a busy school or college environment.

  • A real passion for working within an education environment.

  • Experience utilising SIMS (School Information Management System) within an administrative role.
