Art Technician Required – Secondary School in Rye
Engage Education are working with a secondary school in Rye to recruit a full-time Art Technician to support the delivery of creative lessons across the Art department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a creative background who enjoys working in a school environment and supporting both staff and students.
The school is looking for a reliable and organised individual who can assist with the day-to-day running of the Art department, ensuring lessons are well resourced, safe and engaging for pupils.
About the role
As an Art Technician, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning by preparing materials, maintaining equipment and assisting with practical lessons. Responsibilities will include:
Preparing and setting up materials and resources for Art lessons
Maintaining, organising and ordering Art supplies
Ensuring the Art rooms are safe, clean and compliant with health and safety requirements
Supporting students during practical activities where appropriate
Assisting teaching staff with displays, exhibitions and departmental projects
Safely storing and handling materials, tools and equipment
This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week during the school term.
About you
An interest or background in Art, Design or a creative subject
Organised, practical and able to work independently
Confident working in a secondary school environment
Good awareness of health and safety in practical settings
Reliable, proactive and able to support a busy department
Previous experience in a school or workshop environment is desirable but not essential
