UK & International Admissions Officer – Fixed-Term Maternity Cover
Independent School – Burgess Hill Area
Engage Education are supporting a well-regarded independent day and boarding school in the Burgess Hill area to recruit a UK & International Admissions Officer for a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and organised professional to play a key role in the school’s admissions journey, working closely with families from the UK and overseas.
This role is due to start in April 2026 and is expected to run for up to 52 weeks, depending on maternity leave requirements.
About the role
As the Admissions Officer, you will be the first point of contact for prospective families, providing a welcoming, informative, and personalised admissions experience from initial enquiry through to enrolment. You will work closely with colleagues across the school to promote the school’s offer and ensure a smooth and compliant admissions process, particularly for international applicants.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the full admissions process from enquiry to enrolment
Building strong relationships with prospective parents, agents, and feeder schools
Coordinating and supporting admissions events such as Open Days and recruitment visits
Supporting UK and international admissions processes, including compliance for overseas students
Line management of the Admissions Assistant
Maintaining accurate admissions records and ensuring attention to detail throughout
About you
Previous experience in admissions, customer service, marketing, or a people-facing administrative role
Experience within education is desirable but not essential
Strong organisational skills with excellent written and verbal communication
Professional, proactive, and confident in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders
Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Contract details
Full time, 37.5 hours per week
Fixed-term contract (maternity cover)
Salary: £29,000-£32,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Start date: April 2026
