1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant – Potters Bar, Hertfordshire

Location: Potters Bar, Hertfordshire

Start Date: 23rd February

Contract: Term-time only | Full-time (Part-time considered)

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Potters Bar. This role involves providing individual support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide individualised 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs)

• Support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and engaging positively in lessons

• Implement strategies and interventions set by the class teacher and SENCO

• Promote emotional regulation, independence and positive behaviour

• Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs

• Support transitions throughout the school day

• Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and external professionals

• Maintain accurate records and uphold safeguarding procedures

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience supporting children with SEND in a school or similar setting (desirable)

• Be patient, nurturing and resilient

• Communicate clearly and build strong, trusting relationships

• Be proactive, reliable and able to follow guidance

• Be committed to inclusive education and safeguarding
