Teaching & Recruitment in Summer 2021 With Engage Education

As always at Engage, the summer term brings a new set of events, recruitment drives and deadlines. For schools, the summer term is a busy time, with administration for new starters, recruiting for September and all the events that come along with the Summer. We are here to support our partner schools however we can. We’ve been seeing a significant increase in recruitment in schools over the last few weeks, with schools securing teachers in the UK and from across the world for September or January 2022 starts.

How Can Engage Support Your School This Term?

Our iday events are back and they are better than ever. With many countries still subject to travel restrictions, we’ve kept our virtual format for 2021. Schools can significantly cut  the admin around hiring for September by signing up for a virtual booth at our next iday event on 28th April (further dates to be announced) We have a fantastic pool of candidates that fulfil all our through compliance and qualification requirements. Once vetted, we’ll match them with schools for a series of interviews over the course of a day, all arranged and managed by our expert team, who have been running these events for over 10 years. The format really works – we have hundreds of fantastic iday success stories and we truly believe it’s one of the most unique and successful recruitment events in education.

With schools back and up and running, the focus for many teachers and school leaders has turned to making up the learning lost through school closures over the last year. The government estimates that around 700,000 children lacked sufficient access to online learning during lockdowns. Whilst many schools and teachers scrambled to do everything they can to plug the gap, early indications show that many pupils won’t reach their expected levels of attainment this year.

Our intervention team have been working throughout the pandemic to support schools efforts in closing the attainment gap. We can discuss the funding options available to you and help your school to take advantage of COVID Workforce Grants.

The partnership benefits schools too – in supporting the growth and training of your teaching and support staff, you’ll be improving the quality of teaching within your school and your staffs wellbeing. Being a teacher has never been a ‘easy’ job, but the last year has taken a toll on many of us. Education Support UK reported a significant increase in calls to their teacher support helpline this year, and we know from our own experience over the pandemic that personal wellbeing has often been low on teacher’s priority list. We want to work to change that, and are continuing looking at ways that we can support everyone who works with us.
