Teacher Training Programme: Requirements and Benefits

Deciding to become a teacher is a big step for anyone, whether you’ve just graduated or you’re looking for a change after a long career. We’re excited that you’re considering making this journey with us!

The Engage Teacher Training Programme is a two-year route to a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for graduates like you.

To remove the barriers typically associated with starting a new career, we’ve designed the Teacher Training Programme to be as straightforward as possible. The programme is entirely free to enrol and train on, and while you study you’ll be working full-time in a school, getting on the job experience and earning a salary in line with national scales.

We want to make sure the next generation of teachers feels personally and professionally supported, and fully equipped to take on their new career. Those who join us on the programme will also benefit from constant, ongoing support from our Partnership & Development team, the university providing the PGCE, and the school they’re placed in.

So how can you get involved?
